Hold Me Tight

So if I ask
You render this task
To hold me oh so tight.

I would not mask
The very fact
of this, enduring light.

Newton

I, Newton, in science doth e’er believe tho’ ne’er the same of the Trinity. Gravity begs my mind to retrieve that Rationalism reveals my true affinity. Anguished am I, these thoughts I doth harbor "Apostasy!" they’d say, I hide them from view. Writing in my journal reveals my ardor, Science or God? Canst but one be true?   To think, to behold, to study and wonder my thoughts of God, written to none. For secrets remain, the Clergy doth ponder: "Is it science or God? There is only One!"   The Forest for me that most reverent God, upon its branches my mind doth see. Idolatry to Three beckons a fraud as the apple does fall so close to this tree.   The shoulders of Kepler, Galileo and Boyle support unyielding this long arc of science.
